The Barn

Located on Stokes Farm in Wokingham, our unique gym—once a chicken barn—is now a fully equipped training space surrounded by countryside views and fresh air. With over 10 years of history, we offer diverse indoor and outdoor workouts in a setting like no other.

Brilliant gym, would highly recommend to anyone. Really good variety of classes which can all be altered depending on ability. All the coaches are really friendly and knowledgeable, from helping out with techniques to advice on stretching etc to help with injuries. All round great place and would urge anyone to try it out with the free trial week.

Such a friendly, welcoming gym, suitable for anyone & everyone! I find gyms abit intimidating but BBF is a pleasure to attend. The owners & coaches are all great - motivating & helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to be fit to join?

    Absolutely not! All our workouts can be scaled to any level of fitness or other limitations. We have a class specifically designed towards those who are new or returning to fitness called 'Modwod', which is a great place to start. 

  • Do I really get a whole week's free trial?

    Yes! We want you to experience as many different classes as you choose before committing to membership. We feel this gives you time to gain a better feel for our gym, our coaches and community.

  • What kind of exercise / equipment can I expect in a class?

    All of our classes use a wide variety of equipment such as Barbells, Dumbbells, Kettlebells, Plyo Boxes, Ergs (rower, bike, skierg) and more! We program body weight movements such as squats, press ups, burpees and/or running along side the equipment used for a well rounded session. We have all the kit needed for our Hyrox sessions such as sleds and sandbags.

  • I'm worried about attending a new gym...

    Don't be! Our coaches and members will welcome you as soon as you step foot through the door. We pride ourselves on our community, you will soon feel at home and at ease, ready to take on our classes and be a part of our ever growing community.

  • What are your membership options?

    We offer a monthly membership which includes access to all classes and our open gym. There is no sign up fee and no contract. We also offer a Pay As You Go option. For full details on our membership options CLICK HERE.

  • Where are you located?

    We are located on Stokes Farm, along Binfield Road, RG40 5PR. 


    As you enter the farm (entrance after 'Stokes Farm Barn' if coming from Wokingham) drive past the car park on your right, through the buildings either side of you and you will see Barn Build Fitness appear right in front of you! We have a large, free carpark on site.

  • How often do you recommend attending classes?

    If you are a new to fitness, we recommend starting with 2 to 4 classes a week, with the goal of increasing the number of classes you attend after your first couple of months. It may take a while for your body to get used to training at intensity, so listen to your body and take recovery time between classes as needed.

  • What should I bring/wear to a class?

    Make sure you bring a water bottle and a small sweat towel if needed. Wear light weight exercise clothing and a pair of comfortable, well fitted trainers. In the cooler months bring an extra layer to avoid getting too cold before / after class.
